Subject: Quick Idea for BC Students – "The Spiral" – No Legacy, Just Offloading

Dear Bakersfield College Team,

I'm new—arrived Cinco de Mayo 2022. Passing through. No roots, no kin here till I learned about 1890s relatives recently. No self-glory, no profit. Grandfather's rule: leave places nicer. This is me dumping a thought so it's not in my head anymore. Call it programming.

**The Spiral:** 30-day student novel (English/Creative Writing)—your lives in a story of a slow river coil around Bakersfield: half-mile/hour, fed from Isabella/floods, shaded hemp/bamboo, domes of bamboo/glass. Underground garage next to AT&T, light comms, micro-hydro. Tribes lead parcels, farmers swap almonds for hemp.

**Your Roles:**

- Engineering: dome models, turbines, garage.

- Horticulture/Environmental: natives, carbon plants, beaver wetlands.

- Writing: collab book—royalties 50/50 (class & basin trust). Bury as capsule, open 2046.

No fed money. Private buys, tribal cash. Start small. If it flops, fine. If it grows—better.

I'm two miles away. Happy to drop off or chat—then vanish.

Hemp is forever.

—David
